We love the folks over at eMarketer, they’re always coming up with some great information based on data. And being that we’re data geeks, we eat it right up and spit out the important stuff to those we care about…you.
So they recently released a report showing WHEN is the most optimized time to send your email campaigns.
Trackmaven saw that most marketers send emails during the week, specifically on Thursdays. All too often it seems like Marketers prioritize marketing projects when THEY have time to do them rather than timing when they’ll get the best response. They could have better results if they really tested this.
Experian Marketing Services saw that Saturdays garnered the highest open, click and purchase rates from email campaigns. Perhaps people are just too busy during the week and like to engage with their emails on the weekends. We sure do.
They took it one step further and saw that open rates and purchase rates were higher between 4pm and midnight but the average order size was a bit lower. Maybe people buying cheaper stuff? Maybe they had a few too many at the family picnic and went home to shop for BBQ tools?
You bet we’re going to be testing this ourselves, then we’ll track it in our business dashboard, you should too, then report back!
