The other day, an SEO guru friend of ours told me he was checking out some ‘new’ free SEO tools and liked, one of them is called WooRank. Our buddy Chipper is a sharp guy, even rubs elbows with the likes of celebrity-SEO guy Matt Cutts (!) so of course we took a look at this ‘new’ tool. So first, WTF hadn’t we heard about WooRank when they state 800,000 users in 64 countries? Anyhoo, that is a remarkable number, so tip o’ the hat to you guys, WooRank.
Here’s what we like:
1) They provide a dynamic score on a 100-point scale that represents how well prepared your site is to give results from your online marketing. The review is based on 70 factors ranging from keywords to usability and social monitoring.
2) The “light version” is free: and you don’t have to register to get a quick SEO Health type report. So the 800,000 they state may be the number of times anyone has plugged in a URL. Hey, that’s cool. Here’s a snapshot:
3) It’s actually a pretty robust set of info for free. See the left side for all the stuff they report on. They have domain name availability around yours (similar spellings, different domains), some cool info on how to speed up your site:
4) Sure, they’d like to get some $ from you at some point. They have a 7-day Free Trial (we think they should consider Business Freemium) then charge $49 or $149/mo for more sites and deeper optimization and tracking.
Seems like a great tool, it wouldn’t replace Moz for us, but it’s a solid tool to use side-by-side.
BTW, you just made the list of ‘Next Apps’ for us to connect to and build Insights for!
