This Thanksgiving holiday season was great! The Dasherooers got to spend some great time with family and friends we hope you did too. On Wednesday (day before the holiday) we were prepared to shut down early. We thought email would slow down and we’d start to prepare for the big day. And since this particular holiday is so focused on retail B2C business we thought our little B2B company wasn’t going to fare well.
Did that happen? No way.
Here’s what happened. We awoke on Wednesday to a truckload of new users, new requests for apps and feedback. WTF? Our product team immediately emailed all of us with a “where did we get placed this morning?” email.
Off to our own Dasheroo business dashboards we went. In just a minute we could see that thanks to the fine folks at Duct Tape Marketing they listed us in their Weekend Favs blog. Holy moly. Hopefully inspired by an email we sent to them the week before announcing our beta.
So as you can see with our Dasheroo Google Analytics Insight there was a huge spike in “Referral Sessions”, DuctTape now appeared and we looked at our custom Insight of New Users the spiked big that day.
The moral of the story? You never who is going to publish you, how many people are going to pick it up, how many people are going to RT or re-publish it or when and if they’ll include you in an email (bonus!) And people still need to publish content during the holidays. What an awesome use of referral marketing!
