Last week Google rolled out a new algorithm update, the code named is Panda 4.1. This was an update to the Panda 4 release in May. As we know these Panda updates are all about the quality of content published on a website. Google just doesn’t want to surface weird content and spam when someone uses their search and us searching Google don’t want to see it either.
According to Google’s Pierre Far, this particular update affects about 3-5% of all search queries, smaller sites with great content should benefit and larger sites with “thin content” (think Lyrics sites) will be negatively impacted.
Searchmetrics has a list of sites that are “winners” and “losers” affected by the change.
So if you’re publishing relevant, good content with relevant links, keep doing what you’re doing.
