We’ll patiently wait for World Cup Soccer for another 4 years and it’s been the most exciting in the U.S. than it ever has been. The U.S. seems to really be taking hold of this amazing sport.
In a recent New York Times article How Fan Loyalty Changed During the World Cup you’ll see how all of the countries rooted by their Facebook posts thanks to those nifty data scientists at Facebook. Notably the U.S. as opposed to other countries was divided from the beginning.
Since there is such a Mexican presence in the U.S. you can see that the U.S. and Mexico are almost in a dead heat by the round of 16. Not sure what to say about U.S. Facebook users voting equally for Argentina and Germany but we thought it was interesting to see the layout of this data.
