Data for the last few days for Dasheroo traffic. Facebook is tops!

We love Facebook, after all it is the #3 referrer at Dasheroo as far as overall traffic goes. And on top of that it’s the number ONE social network for sending visitors to good ‘ole Dash. You know how we know that? BAM. Look to the right. That’s an Insight from our business dashboard internally and we’re creating them for you too! Soon you’ll have access to them, promise.

So looking at our Dashboards made us take the next steps and get more Facebook traffic! How? Since this traffic is good and cheap, we’re boosting all kindsa posts over at the Dasheroo Facebook Page. However, when Facebook advertising, you need know the rules.

1. Text to image ratio. If your’e boosting a post or running an ad Facebook has a 20% text to 80% image acceptable ratio. Here is Facebook’s Grid tool so you’ll know if your images will be rejected for too much text.

2. You cannot include a “play” button that doesn’t play a video natively in FB. We uploaded a picture of Google’s own Matt Cutts below with a small play button. If you clicked on the image it took you to YouTube to watch the video about Google’s new algorithm changes. NO GO! We then cut the play button out and voila! Facebook accepted it.

3. References to Facebook. You have to be careful if you use the Facebook brand and icons. Go here to see how.

The good thing is that when they reject you, they tell you right away and give you the reason. They even go a step further and allow you to disagree. What do you know? We did disagree a few times and they conceded and ran that ad. Go figure, Facebook isn’t perfect. Shhhh.

Now go get those graphs of traffic going up and to the right!
