Pingdom - Goes for about $10/month - Gives you 10 checks a month for 1 site at this rate and also alerts you via SMS.

SiteUptime - They’ve also got a free plan giving you 1 site to monitor and 30 and 60 minute checks.

There you have it! Another cheap and easy way to monitor what’s important to your business.
