Track Our Startup’s Progress with Business Dashboards - Alpha-Ready with Support & FAQs

This past week a few of us are on vacation, and it’s the 4th of July. But it’s not stopping us from keepin’ on keepin’ on. We have two scheduled meetings a week since we’re distributed all over the place. FWIW we use Skype most of the time to gather everyone together and join.me to screen share anything we need to show off. When we can get awesome free tools we take ’em.

A week ago we told you about a few trials and tribulations we encountered. We’re sure they’re going to continue, but that’s just what happens in a business isn’t it?

This past we got ready for an alpha launch (the earliest private version of our product), where in a short time period we want just 20 or so people banging away on Dasheroo telling us early on what they like, what they don’t and what they’d like to see with their business dashboards. We do this so we can be sure up front that we’re building what people want. Then we go into beta where we get more of you telling us what you like/don’t like. After that we’ll continue revving and improving and launch it to the masses!

So, look out for an invite. We have over 500 people who want to beta test after alpha.

What are we doing to get ready?

We’ve been knee-deep connecting with Zoho support. A huge shout-out to our support guru here at Dasheroo, really digging in to make sure we’re capturing all of the data into our CRM tool. This way we can track a support ticket directly to a customer and have a nice trail of conversation. We’ll be using it to:

  • Gather feedback
  • Have community-based FAQs
  • Assign tasks to our team members to answer questions that come in

This is super important to us in this alpha-phase of our process. At the get-go we’ll be answering your questions via email, in the future we’re going to build out self-service support. No one wants to talk on the phone anymore do they?

Breaking News!! We got Mix Panel working, YAY! This product is super-killer. It tells you exactly what people are clicking on, where they are falling off, everything about how people are using an online product. We’re going to use it to find out what types of Insights you are creating, if you’re using collaboration, descriptions, and all of the “parts” of our product. Then we can make user experience decisions on where to put links, wording and features so it makes more sense for you. This coupled with your feedback through Zoho Support will make us a better product.

We have a ton of ideas for our next round of Insights, but we are going to be asking you what you like to track first with a survey. We’ll be sending it around in the coming weeks.

On the marketing front our Facebook likes are now at over 4000 just since we started March and Twitter continues to grow. We are also getting some nice vibes from Inc.com, thanks to JP!

On the short downside, Google was giving us a few nasty problems this past week NOT returning data. This is going to happen from time to time so we’ll all just have to deal with it. We’ll be sure to give you messaging the minute we know there’s an issue.
