As usual we got a ton done this week. We are deep in the mode of creating Insights as you know from our previous posts. We’re finishing up our first stab at Facebook Insights and moving on to Adwords. But before we moved on we got yet another nifty Facebook Insight. We also decided to start to use the branded colors of our Partner’s Insight so that you’re familiar with what you’re looking at.

  • We’re up to 1400 Likes and 310 Twitter followers which is great!
  • We’re publishing to Linkedin now in addition to Facebook and Twitter which is driving more traffic to our site and blog. (Great content btw!)
  • We’re working on a new website now, hopefully to be launched next week.
  • We’ve got TONS of leads for our early access list. We’re going to cap it soon. ARE YOU ON IT??

We’ve got some financial experts looking at our business model in the coming few weeks. That’s pretty cool, we’re smart and everything but these people know their stuff!

After Adwords the rest of May will be focused on nailing collaboration, first-time user experience and connecting your third party accounts to your business dashboards on Dasheroo so you can get data into your Insights.

Dasheroo - Track Our Startup! This Week’s Progress with Business Dashboards

Last week we told you how much we worked on our Google Analytics Insights, our beloved developers decided to give GA a rest and move onto Facebook. What did we get? More Insights! We took a stab at delivering a nice graph of a bunch of Facebook metrics together, see what you think. We’ll be doing a few more before we move on!

Business Dashboards

One example of how we’re thinking of putting all your Facebook Engagement data in one Insight.

What else you ask? We worked hard at making sure we’re pulling the right data for you in all of our Insights!

Our team is building these so fast it’s tough to keep up.

We also posted some great nuggets about what to track in your e-commerce system, and calculating the value of an email address. Pretty cool.

We also got a sneak peek at a website to replace our placeholder site. It looks awesome! Even better we’re trying to make it super easy for you to log right in and get dashing!

On top of all that we got some great people signing up interested in being lab rats for our business dashboards so make sure you get on the list!

We’re killing it on Facebook with engagement rates of over 1% and upwards of 1200 Likes. We’re started to start letting the cat outta the bag when we created a Linkedin page of who is behind all of this mumbo jumbo.

Next up? We will ATTACK Adwords so look out!!

Dasheroo Behind the Scenes - PROGRESS with Business Dashboards!

Another great week for business dashboards in development! We’ve been really busy. We’re shooting to get something out to a few of you in late Q2 so noses to grindstone for the Dasherooers. The Google Analytics API is a bear, in a good way. There is a ton of information we can pull out of it for you but we want it to be meaningful.

Insights

All of your Google Analytics traffic sources in one Insight on your Dasheroo business dashboard!

We now have some killer Google Analytics Insights working, one of which we show you to the right. It’s pretty cool to get some great information from Google displayed the way you want it.

We’ve got a bunch more Google Analytics Insights you’ll be able to use on your own dashboard that we’re deep in QA with right now.

Next up? Diving into the Facebook API to get some Facebook Insights going!

Backoffice (if we had an office…)

We’re also testing out Zoho CRM to collect email addresses from you if you want to sign up and get on the early access list. They have a nifty email collection tool that will stick your deets right into our Zoho account. We’re going to test out Zoho Support for their Community and Portal in the event you’ll need to reach us. So far It’s coming up to about $25/month.

Next up? To begin to populate articles so you can get the info you need when you need it.

Marketing? What do we have to market?

Well we’ve got to be talking about something while the developers are busy building some great business dashboard Insights for ya! So we put out some killer blog posts, check out New Google Analytics Terminolgy, Wassup? and the famous Who Charted? series, silly fun with graphs and charts!

We hit an all time high of 900 Facebook likes, but even better, some great engagement rates! Can’t wait to get a Facebook Insight for that one since Facebook doesn’t really put it in your face. How did we get all of those Likes? We think it’s killer content coupled with the fact that we are boosting almost every post where we send you all back to this blog. We also hit over 250 Twitter followers as well and we’re posting blog posts and other neat stuff to Twitter.

To top it all off when you search “Dasheroo” we now appear on page 1 with Facebook and Twitter!

Next up? More great content to help you manuever through the massive data you could be using to help you grow and the beginnings of a real website to replace the one we have. While you’re there checking it out, sign up!

Dasheroo - Huge Google Analytics PROGRESS with Business Dashboards!

One step closer to business dashboards for your biz.

One step closer to business dashboards for your biz.

This week we went nuts. We told you last that we’d be working on the next Insight which is Google Analytics. So we’re knee deep in the heap of all of the Google API mumbo jumbo which ain’t easy, but it’s fun!

So we got SIX Google Insights working! You’ll be able to see your visits, your mobile users, etc. here. Our Product and Dev people simply rock.

You can copy an Insight to another Dashboard so if someone else in your business needs it they can view it on their own dashboard without having to go to yours. Pretty nice.

We’re over 500 Facebook and 250 Twitter followers. (People really like this data stuff huh?) Hopefully we’ll show you soon with our very own DASHBOARD the progress we’re making! Honestly? Can’t wait for that to happen.

We’re blogging like wildfire with some really great information if you hadn’t noticed. Tell your friends, we could use the traffic.

Behind the scenes we all work on this project in separate places! So each week we get on Skype to have a weekly meeting and we use Basecamp to track communications and progress on the amazing project.

Did you sign up to get on the early access list yet? It’s getting full by the minute!

Dasheroo - PROGRESS with Business Dashboards!

What a week it’s been and we’ve even been down a guy (ok, we all need vacays every now and then)! Hey he had an amazing time. You thought we made great progress with our business dashboards last week? Check out this week…

Because we want you involved in our trip to launching our first version, we want to share this week’s progress with you! We made some great Google headway this week. The great thing about Google is that once you get into the data that Google provides you’ll see that you pull data as it relates to Analytics, Adwords and Adsense so for sure we’ll be playing with that to build some pretty great Insights for you.

Our Product team has been busy loading up Pivotal Tracker (the nifty Product Management tool that Product and Developers love to use to track progress) with more Insights and features that you will LOVE.

Check out all of the features our team has been working on...can't wait to show them to you!

Check out all of the features our team has been working on…can’t wait to show them to you!

Our Marketers have been busy getting some great informational content to you on how to use Facebook to boost traffic and another great “Who Charted” post. They get better each week! We’ve got 335 Facebook Likes in just a week and a half and about 160 Twitter followers. Pretty cool. We started to use Hootsuite to manage it all, seems like it’s going to work.

Next week? More Google, more Google!! In the meantime tell your friends about our nifty content.

We can’t wait for next week!

Dasheroo - PROGRESS!

We’re so excited about our new company we’ve gotta tell you all of the ‘behind the scenes’ stuff we’ve been working on. We want to get a young version of our product out the door fast with a short list of “Insights” you can put on a business dashboard. We’re using the name “Insight” instead of “Widget” because what we’re providing gives you real insight, we’re not a cog in a wheel.

Obviously…

Screen Shot 2014-03-23 at 12.28.17 PM

We have a new logo, and we’re loving the colors and design! Do you? Feels professional, yet still approachable and friendly, the way you should look at your data and business dashboards. (Data is your friend:)

We launched a new blog where we’ll keep you up to date on what’s happening and give you daily ideas (Qwickbytes) to help you manage all of the data you have access to.

Not so obvious…

Our amazing team got us our first Insight going. It’s going to be a very cool way you can easily connect an email marketing account you have in Mailchimp and tell you what’s going on in there. The geeky side of us? We also killed it with developing a data model so that we can give you Insights in a snap. On top of it we found some nifty charting software so that what you’ll look at day-to-day makes sense and is easy on the eyes.

We had great conversations with some potential investors. Right now we’re in bootstrap mode which is super fun, but it would be nice to get a real paycheck someday :) Everyone we talk to is really excited about what we have to offer with our background and the team we’ve got so stay tuned.

Next? More posts coming your way, Facebook and Twitter pages, our next Insight. Stay tuned.

Reduce Shopping Cart Abandonment - Rescue Ideas #3

Hola! Those damn abandoned shopping carts. What’s a retailer to do? Well, in a couple previous posts we put up some ideas on how to get ‘em to come back and buy after they left: sending an abandoned cart email campaign and using ad remarketing to convince them to pull out that wallet and lay down some cold hard cash.

Well, let’s get proactive today and talk about ways to stop people from fleeing your cart in the first place, and how to reduce shopping cart abandonment right off the bat, shall we?

Here’s a great study from Statista outlining the main reasons shoppers do not complete a purchase:

Work your way through this list!

Work your way through this list!

So let’s drill in to how you can reduce shopping cart abandonment! We have personally experienced gains from the following:

1) State your shipping costs upfront! Ask for the zip code in the cart pre-check out and serve up your shipping options (i.e. slow boat, 3-4 day, overnight) with associated costs. It’s amazing how many sites still don’t offer this. That said, not to overcomplicate things, but consider an upgrade to free shipping in the cart if they reach a certain cart value.

2) Use the Express Lane mentality! We are inpatient breed, aren’t we? Too many steps, too many clicks and you are dead. Well, not you, but your sales numbers. And your bonus. And your dreams of that big promotion next quarter. If you do choose a multi-step checkout, make the steps and progress clear. wine.com does a nice job of executing on a multi-step cart:

The clear progress steps help reduce cart abandonment, but we'd like to see them ask for zip code upfront.

The clear progress steps help reduce cart abandonment

3) MBG - The trusty ‘ol Money Back Guarantee, or even better Low Price Guarantee. Look up (at the chart), 36% of folks didn’t complete their purchase because they found a better deal somewhere else. So match it, at least for certain products. And show them how easy - and free! - it is to return their product and get a refund.

Now first and foremost, always test then measure (after all we ARE a business dashboards company.) Do not do a radical change without testing. Promise us that, OK? What works for some retailers and sites may not work for others!

Top Customer Support Metrics You Need to Track, Now!

This biz was great at answering Chats, Phones and Emails, no wonder they had a great NPS!

This biz was great at answering Chats, Phones and Emails, no wonder they had a great NPS!

Your customer support is paramount to your biz and let’s face it, with all the nifty technology out there it’s even more complicated to get through a shopping cart experience, master a SaaS product or get through an online payment without a little bit of hand holding. So what are the key customer support metrics you should look at when you’re assessing how good you are?

Phone wait times - If you’re a small business you may or may not have a phone system. If you do, you need to find out if they report on what your wait times are. For instance, if you’ve got a website outage you might have long wait times because your support team is getting hammered by phone calls. This should be just a few minutes!

Chat response times - Online businesses need to have online chat service to support customers. Bottom line is that customers don’t really want to talk to you, cuz guess what? They need to multi-task too! Even better? Your people can answer multiple chats at once vs. having to devote all attention to one phone call.

Email response times - If the issue that a customer has isn’t an “in the moment” issue than they are probably ok with sending you an email. But getting back to them in a timely manner (usually less than a few business hours) is paramount.

NPS - We’ve written about this before but asking people on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best!) if they’d recommend your business to a friend is really the ultimate question.

FAQ/Portal Visits - You should be giving as much information about Frequently Asked Questions in a knowledgebase or online portal to your customers. Take it one step further and track what people are having issues with, then fix it and report back to them ASAP! What’s better then a customer telling you what they want to see your business do better at and seeing progress as it happens?

So start tracking these metrics now!
