Track Our Startup: Team Dasheroo Killed It In Austin

Even though we all gathered in Austin for our company offsite, we still managed to get a ton of our daily work done. In fact, our QA guru Court was at the bowling alley working!

I’m taking the team through a lively presentation and Dasheroo Dog Dwight even gets in the mix!

Team Dasheroo Crushes Austin!

We had some great sessions in Austin last week where we got the entire team together. With all of the new people we have, it’s really the first time most of us have met each other face-to-face which was pretty exciting.

The first day, all the co-founders got together (there are 5 of us) at the amazing Wework on Congress in Austin (@weworkATX). BTW, that place is awesome. If you ever need a temporary spot to work, especially if you’re a startup that doesn’t want to pay big bucks for permanent office space, these (located in larger cities) can’t be beat and this one takes the funky cupcake!

Lamberts BBQ Austin

Meat on paper or meat on a plate, we’re in!

We revisited the 5 priorities we’d set for the company a while ago to make sure they still stick. Lucky for us they do! And going forward, what’s important for us is to make sure our application is “sticky”. That means developing features and functionality that gives our users more reasons to log in and extract value for their business. You can bet we went in deep on this topic.

Afterwards, we gorged ourselves on some fancy BBQ at Lamberts then went bar hopping to get us ready for the entire team on Tuesday. I’m mean we’re in Austin right?

For the all-hands (14 of us) on Tuesday, we went through a shortened version of our most recent board meeting so everyone had a great understanding of our KPIs and our overall business health. It was great to hear from all of them and understand what their questions, concerns and great ideas around the business were. Getting everyone on the same page and understanding the overall objectives helps everyone know why they need to do what they do. And it makes everyone more productive and improves team work.

We had fabulous sandos from Republic of Sandwich…awesome! Then headed off to The Good Night where the team bowled their pants off! Ok, not their pants but fun and mayhem ensued. By the way have you heard of rueben fries? It’s yummy goodness exactly like what you’re thinking. Thanks Good Night folks!

Team Dasheroo bowls!

Clockwise from top left: Team Dasheroo gets ready for serious bowling, Josh doesn’t quite give us the Swayze pucker does he? Team Dasheroo scores! Rueben fries, and Twinkle Toes Alf is up! Center: Dasheroo by the shoe size.

Dasheroo in Austin TX

Clockwise from upper left: Dasheroo eats Uchico, the nice place settings “before” Waketake Sake, we have no idea how the Dasheroo sticker got in a bathroom stall at Continental club but it’s in great company!

Later, more food! And more team building at a private room in Uchiko, a fantastic sushi restaurant in this land-locked city. Waketake Sake otherwise known as “Demon Slayer” is tasty but kind of expensive I’ll just say :-) Just ask Court if it slayed his demons! Finally, half the team went on to the Continental Club and grooved to some excellent live music!

I’ll just say this, this is the best team I’ve ever had the chance to work with. Thanks everybody for everything you do, and to all of our users, you’re in great hands!
