No matter what your biz is you should always capture leads on your website. Why? If you sell something, a product, your time, a service, then you need people to sell to.

Modal window in action!
So let’s talk about these visitors, they come to your site and poke around and maybe they just don’t know what to do. Why not hit ’em in the face with a modal window like Jason Bourne beats the snot outta any sniper, BAM!
Ok a modal window won’t do that kind of damage but it will be in your visitor’s face that’s for sure. It captures the attention of your visitors so they can either a) sign up or 2) click to leave the window.
According to our beloved Wikipedia,
“A modal window is a child window that requires users to interact with it before they can return to operating the parent application, thus preventing the workflow on the application main window. Modal windows are often called heavy windows or modal dialogs because the window is often used to display a dialog box.”
Ok, so it’s a cooler today-version pop-up window.
You see them with sign up forms, surveys, feedback and a myriad of other applications too long for me to list so these guys and these guys did a great job showing some really great examples of modal windows.
